The Vengeance of the Lichemaster

 I have been playing quite a lot of Warhammer Old World with my son so last week we decided to play The Vengeance of the Lichemaster Scenario from the Spring 1986 Citadel Journal.  We adapted it for the new rules and had a really fun game.

In the end the Lichemaster won as he managed to get the Black Arc first and run away. All the monks were killed and Bagrian teleported away.  The Mechanical Warrior (Dalek) was very tough.

The Vengeance of the Lichemaster

Over on the Lead Adventure Forum they have an Army Painter thread that has been going for a couple of years. The idea is to get an army painted and show your progress.  I took part in 2016 and 2017 so will do again this year as it keeps me motivated.

For this year I am going to paint up miniatures for The Vengeance of the Lichemaster Warhammer Scenario from the Citadel Journal Spring 1986.

I have some miniatures I will need to collect and for other I will use proxies due to the cost of the original ones!

Regiment of Renown RR5 - Harboth and the Black Mountain Boys

Finished my first box of Harboth and the Black Mountain Boys with Harboth himself.  Only 3 more boxes to go.  They originally came with 8 troopers and a Leader (Hero, Standard or Musician).  Leter on when they introduced the Champion it went down to 7 Troopers.  I may end up painting 9 troopers for each set so I end up with a nice round 40.

Regiments of Renown RR11 - Karnac's Lizardmen Raiders

Now finished is the 11th Regiment of Renown in the form of Karnac's Lizardmen Raiders.  The only miniature I never managed to get was the champion so I used a C26 Lizardman instead.

Regiments of Renown RRD1 - Bugmans Rangers 2nd Edition

Sorted out lots of my old dwarfs and found the 2nd edition Bugmans boxed set.  I know I would not have the time to strip and repaint so decided to just tarts them up a bit.  I redid the shields , add some washes and changed the bases.  Some photos of before, in progress and finished.

Oldhammer Orcs and Dwarfs

Going through my boxes of stuff to see what I actually have as due to loosing my Job I won't be able to buy new stuff for a while.  I decided to get out all of my Dwarfs and Orcs.  I have hoarded them for two long and haven't painted any since the late 80's early 90's (Apart from an odd orc/goblin war machine around 2002).  I figured its time I got these out and did something with them.  So a big pile of stuff.

Now I either sell a load or all of it which I would probably regret or paint it.  There is lots to paint and some needs stripping.  Now my painting has improved since the 1980s not that much but still enough.  Now I can't bear to strip everything as it will just take too long so I will experiment with washes, updating some colours and changing the bases over to brown (Just don't like the green bases anymore unless they are done extremely well which I don't have the patience to do).

Finally finished my Mengil Manhide's Dark Elves.  So thats three of the Original Regiments of Renown painted, still its to go.  Probably start on Bugmans next.
